Tonight (14Jan06), around 2100 PCCW mobile agent called me to confirm me my appointment was on coming monday (16Jan06) and remind me to bring along my credit card and my Hong Kong id card. This is very good service already. May be because I change my appointment day from original 23Jan to 16Jan, there was another PCCW mobile agent called me to remind me the day was 16Jan and informed me to bring along my credit card and Hong Kong id card. This was very very good customer service. Better than the one i using now smartone. Smartone have good receiption on the network but not in customer service. I without any contract with smartone, I called smartone customer service hotline before to ask for them to mail me any new promotion. The agent told me their company have no this knid of service. The agent told me to pick up the new promotion leavelet at any of their shops. What kind of marketing they are using? In the seond month phone bill I paid about 1.5k for roaming in US, Canada and Japan. Smartone don't know how to catch this kind of pontential spents customer. I hope PCCW was not.
It is too early to comment on the service of PCCW. They are new to the mobile industry. Tell us again 6 months later or so. My personal opinion is : to start with a good customer service is easy, but to keep the same service standard long is hard. No exception to any existing service providers.
